John 14:26

“But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” (John 14:26)
Are you longing to hear God? Do you seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit in your daily life or in a particular situation? Be of good cheer, my dear friend. Jesus has not left you as an orphan. He has shown us a beautiful way to experience the help and guidance of the Holy Spirit.
The Book of Acts, chapters 10 and 11, tells the incident of Peter being given a divine assignment: to lead Cornelius’s household to salvation. Peter, being a Jew, hesitated to go to a Gentile’s house. However, God spoke to him very clearly through a vision, and he obeyed.
This act raised concerns among the Jewish believers in Jerusalem, who questioned Peter’s decision to visit a Gentile household. Therefore, in chapter 11, Peter explains everything that happened. While recounting the events, he emphasizes that the Holy Spirit reminded him of Jesus’ words:
Then I remembered what the Lord had said: “John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 11:16)
Peter had walked closely with Jesus throughout His three-and-a-half-year ministry. He spent countless hours listening to Jesus’ teachings, observing His actions, and sharing daily conversations. Peter wasn’t just a follower; he was one of Jesus’ closest companions, witnessing moments like the transfiguration and engaging in intimate personal conversations.
After Jesus’ ascension, Peter remained faithful, following Jesus’ instructions and witnessing boldly. He maintained his intimacy with Jesus through prayer. In Acts 10, Peter received the invitation to visit Cornelius’s house while he was praying. Peter was consumed with the Word of God—a life filled with Scripture, prayer, and devotion, demonstrating his dedication and dependence on Jesus. Because of this, when he faced critical decisions, the Holy Spirit reminded him of Jesus’ words.
In the same way, the Holy Spirit is willing to be involved in every aspect of our daily lives. If we desire such clear guidance and help, we must dedicate ourselves to spending time in God’s Word and in prayer.
Jesus is the Word made flesh. Peter was privileged to see and hear Jesus in the flesh while He was on earth. Today, we have the written Word of God. When we read, memorize, and meditate on Scripture, we are listening to Jesus’ words and letting them dwell within us.
Maintaining a close relationship with Jesus through prayer is vital. This intimacy allows our spirit to discern the voice of the Holy Spirit. When we fill our hearts with God’s Word and our lives with prayer, the Holy Spirit will speak to us, illuminating Scripture and reminding us of the truths we have stored within. In every situation, whether in trials or in daily life, the Holy Spirit will keep reminding us of the Word of God and be our perfect companion, guiding and lighting our path.
It is our responsibility to internalize the Word, and it is the Holy Spirit’s joy to enlighten it and remind us. Scripture may not reveal its power immediately, but when the Holy Spirit quickens it—when it comes alive in our hearts and minds—the power of God manifests.
Let us commit to spending time in the Word and in prayer. As we do, we will experience the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the power of God in our lives, and our lives will be transformed.
God bless you.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for giving Your life for me. Today, as I take a deliberate decision to spend time consuming Your Word and seeking You in prayer, give me the grace to do it. I desire the help of the Holy Spirit in my daily life and in my current situation [mention your situation here]. Guide me, help me, speak to me, and be with me. Thank You, Lord. Amen!

Remember
Just as Peter was guided by the Holy Spirit when called to visit Cornelius, we too can experience God’s guidance when we dedicate ourselves to His Word and prayer. The Holy Spirit teaches, reminds, and leads us in every situation, giving us the wisdom and courage we need.
