Transforming Love of Jesus
3 Minutes Read
Romans 5:8

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
We all, like sheep, have gone astray; each of us has turned to our own way (Isaiah 53:6). Jesus, as the Good Shepherd, came in search of the wayward sheep (us), gave His life for us, protected us from all external harm, took us into His own sheepfold, and made us His own. This shows His unconditional and sacrificial love for us.
However, have we ever thought that the One who gave His life for us so selflessly would love to receive something from us? Oftentimes, we fail to acknowledge that God desires our company; we only run to Him when we are in need, to take hold of His blessings.
Well, it’s good to enjoy the blessings of God. Nevertheless, we need to realize that God is longing to be in communion with us each and every moment (John 15:4). He loves to be involved in all that we do; He cherishes our presence at His feet, praising Him, enjoying His love, and sharing our love with Him with a thankful heart. He wants to shower His love on us and be in a relationship with us. Therefore, the Scripture admonishes us: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind” (Matthew 22:37).
How can we quench His thirst and draw from His overflowing love? 1 John 4:19 records, “We love because He first loved us.” When we choose to adore Him, love Him, and receive His love, we will be transformed from the inside out, because God will reveal Himself to us on a deeper level. We will become more like Him, for His nature will transcend into our being. We become radically changed, so that His desires become our desires. We will keep His commandments out of love and not out of obligation. We will spread His aroma into the fallen world by living a holy life that reflects His very nature of holiness. We will walk in love so that the world around us will be able to see Him through us. We will be empowered to lay down our lives for others, and we will be channels through which other lost sheep will be brought into His sheepfold, bringing great rejoicing in heaven.
Choose to love Him and become a channel of blessing to the lost world! God bless you!
Prayer
Lord Jesus, today I make a deliberate decision to love You. Help me cultivate a loving relationship with You by spending time in Your presence. I desire to be transformed by You and become a channel of blessing to the lost sheep. Help me fulfill Your desire and love You, Lord. Transform me, bless me, and use me for Your glory. Amen!
