Have you been facing a battle in your life and struggling to overcome it? Are you in a critical situation that demands the supernatural work of God?

Be of good cheer, my dear friend. Seek God in prayer and make your specific needs known to Him. Hand your burden over completely to Him, and you will see the supernatural work of God unfold in your situation.

Isaiah chapter 36 describes a time when Sennacherib, king of Assyria, attacked and captured all the fortified cities of Judah. He continually threatened the people of Judah, trying to destroy their trust in the Lord and turn them against their king, Hezekiah, saying: “Do not let Hezekiah persuade you to trust in the Lord...” (Isaiah 36:15).

However, the people followed their king’s instructions and remained silent in the face of the enemy’s assaults. As their leader, Hezekiah not only instructed his nation not to fight in the flesh, but he also took spiritual responsibility by seeking the Lord and placing his total trust in Him.

He went to the temple to pray and sent messengers to the prophet Isaiah to seek God's guidance. In response, Isaiah delivered a promise from the Lord: “Do not be afraid of what you have heard... I will make him return to his own country...” (Isaiah 37:6–7).

Even though the Lord had spoken this promise of deliverance, Hezekiah did not become passive. Scripture shows that he personally went to pray once again.

The most beautiful part of his prayer occurs when he receives another threatening letter from the enemy king. Instead of panicking, Hezekiah went to the temple, spread the letter out before the Lord, and prayed. He completely handed the problem over to God!

Our faithful God, who hears our prayers, sent a response through Isaiah. In essence, the Lord declared that because Hezekiah had prayed concerning this matter, He would intervene.

The Lord specifically highlighted the fact that Hezekiah had prayed. Hezekiah did not rely solely on the prayers of others; he personally stood before God and surrendered the situation to Him. Consequently, the Lord acted. He forced the enemy to withdraw and released His angels behind the scenes to defeat the opposing army.

What Hezekiah could not accomplish through human strength, God performed supernaturally.

If you are going through a difficult season today, do what Hezekiah did. Just as he spread the threatening letter before the Lord, lay your problems before Him and pray over them.

While it is good to seek prayer support from others—as they can help build your hope, faith, and trust in the Lord—there is unique power in personally seeking the Lord regarding your situation. When you personally bring your burdens before Him, you surrender the matter into His hands and acknowledge that you cannot solve everything in your own strength. It is a direct expression of your dependence on Him.

When you pray, it pleases God because it demonstrates your trust and your willingness to follow His direction. In doing so, you partner with God in prayer, allowing Him to release supernatural strategies and solutions for problems you cannot solve on your own.

Therefore, do not carry alone what God is asking you to surrender to Him.

Spread your situation before the Lord. Tell Him what you need, repent where necessary, and ask Him for wisdom, direction, protection, and intervention. As you seek Him, listen for His guidance. Once you receive His word, trust Him and watch Him supernaturally intervene.

He is faithful to fulfill His promise: “Call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me” (Psalm 50:15).

Trust in Him, and stay at peace.
